The Forming of the Devil's Shroud
The Sea of Thieves has been enveloped by an impenetrable fog known as the Devil's Shroud since ancient times, and its origins remain a mystery to this day.
Ancient sailors, guided by the Glimmer constellation, managed to navigate through the Shroud and explore the hidden seas within. To protect themselves from the Shroud's effects, the Ancients used special artifacts like beacons. These beacons served to safeguard their homes and places of worship from the fog's influence. They also created relics that allowed for safe passage into the fog, ensuring their ability to navigate the treacherous waters
Over time, the Devil's Shroud expanded, effectively cutting off access from the outside world. As a result, the Sea of Thieves became trapped within this bank of impenetrable fog, forever separated from the rest of the world.
